Training requirements and call volume challenge career and volunteer fire departments. Time required to test fire hose and ground ladders creates an additional strain. Volunteer fire department also find that fewer people are able to show up to test fire hose. Freeing time for good training is a goal that every department is looking for.
FDHC will tag any failed hose and inform you of the shortage. We will not throw away or damage any of your hose.
We do not offer repairs, but we will do our best to get you in contact with someone who can.
Generally between three and five hours, depending on the hose lay, amount, and type of hose.
We need a minimum area of 150'x30' to maintain efficiency.
This varies by state, but many state OSHA programs require annual testing per NFPA 1962 standards.

Departments of Labor in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri have all adopted Federal OSHA standards.
One of these is 29 CFR 1910.156(d), which says "The employer shall maintain and inspect, at least annually, fire fighting equipment to assure the safe operational condition of the equipment. Fire fighting equipment that is in damaged or unserviceable condition shall be removed from service and replaced."
These states' Department of Labor have confirmed that hose testing and proof of it, are things that they will look for if you are ever audited.
